Try to use a really strong cardstock for this, if you don't then make sure you reinforce your spine pieces as I describe. This tip is from Linda Dexter, one of our faithful viewers. All the information will be listed below. Hope you give these a go and let me know how they work for you.
Cardstock is 12"x8" score at 4 3/4", 5 1/4", 10", 10 1/2". I place mats on mine but you can close this with ribbon or velcro.
You will need two pieces of pattern paper that are cut at 1 1/4"x7 3/4" to cover the closure flap. The mats for the front and back are cut at 4 1/2"x7 3/4". The mat above where you will plae the paper pad is cut at 4 1/2"x3" and the one for above the pockets is cut at 4 1/2"x4 1/4".
Your pocket mats are cut at 4 1/4"x3 1/4" and 4 1/4"x2 1/4".
Your pocket pieces are cut at 5 1/2x5 and you will score at 1/2" on all 4 sides. And the small one is cut at 5 1/2"x3" and you will score at 1/2" on three sides. Trim the corners as shown in the video and glue them down, starting with the large one 2 1/2" from the top of the album on the left side.
The piece to hold the notepad is cut at 4 1/2"x6 and it just glues down on two sides as shown int he video. This is so the cardboard on the notepad will slide in the pocket. These notepads can be replaced. And I usually include another one in the package.
For the note pad, I just cut up an old composition book that my grand had written in. I used what pages she left unmarked lol. I cut these at 4" wide and 7" long. Make sure the tops are all even and then clip them together on the top sides and use art glitter glue on the top edges. I do two layers. Then I just clip them at the top, not touching the glued parts, and leave to dry, takes only a few minutes. So you could make this before starting on the folio. Cut the chipboard for the back the same size as the pad. Take a piece of your pattern paper and cut it at 4"x1 1/2" and glue about 1/2" of it down to the top of your chipboard. Then place the pad on the chipboard and fold over the remaining piece of pattern paper. I then glue this piece to the front of the notepad.
Place your notepad in your folio and you are ready to embellish. Embellish as much or a little as you want, these usually go well then more embellishments you use. People are drawn to the items that catch their eye.
I hope this is a money maker for you. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much for your support, E
